SONOMA COUNTY BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHER

The other day, as I was walking out of my room, my daughter looked at me and asked, “Mom, why are you so beautiful?” and without a thought I told her, “I don’t know baby, because I AM.”
This response took her by surprise.
For so long, when I would receive a compliment, I would brush it off or turn it down. Or worse, I would awkwardly try to utter a “oh, uh...th-hank you”
WHY?
Because society has brainwashed us into believing that we are not good enough or worthy of those compliments. Somewhere along the line, I stopped striving for perfection. Eventually I realized society’s standards of beauty are unattainable and they can kiss my ass! Ladies,
YOU ARE WORTH IT!
I’m sure a simple “Thank you” would have been enough for my daughter, but dammit I want her to know that I accept every part of me and I truly believe I am a worth it! And hopefully she will feel the same.
Next time you receive a compliment, OWN IT! YOU are beautiful, YOU are worth it and YOU deserve it!
